Renold Wins Mitsubishi Contract For New York City Metro

Renold plc is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a new $17 million
contract by Mitsubishi to supply couplings and gearboxes for the New York City
Metro North Transit Authority.

Deliveries under this contract are scheduled to commence in mid 2009 and will be
fulfilled over a 2 year period.

The couplings and gears will be used in the propulsion systems for a new fleet
of rail cars due to be rolled out in 2009.

Bob Davies, Chief Executive of Renold, commented:

     'This is another significant contract win for Renold and augments our order
book which at the end of June was already 32% ahead of 12 months ago.'
